Some believe Drake took a subliminal shot at his ex, Serena Williams, under his recent Instagram post showing him playing tennis with fellow rapper, Sexyy Red.

On Monday, Drake shared photos of he and Sexyy Red on the court with the caption, “I said tennis lesson she said where’s the bracelet or the necklace.”

The post shows that Drake hit the like button on a comment that said, “Serena Williams upgrade” with two fire emojis.

Drake and Williams, a 23-time Grand Slam champion, dated on and off from 2011-15.

“He messy for liking this,” another user added with a crying-laughing emoji.

This isn’t the first time the exes have made headlines for throwing shade at each other.

In 2022, the Grammy-winning rapper name-dropped Williams and took a jab her husband, Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, on his track, “Middle of the Ocean.”

Drake rapped, “Sidebar, Serena, your husband a groupie / He claim we don’t got a problem but / No, boo, it is like you comin’ for sushi,” on the song, which is from his “Her Loss” album with 21 Savage.

Ohanian responded on X by posting a photo of he and his daughter, Alexis Jr. watching Williams playing tennis.

“The reason I stay winning is because I’m relentless about being the absolute best at whatever I do — including being the best groupie for my wife & daughter,” Ohanian wrote.

Rumors of Drake and Williams feuding swirled when she joined Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance at this year’s Super Bowl.

The tennis superstar danced to Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” a diss track aimed at Drake, on stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, which many perceived as her throwing shade at her ex due to the escalating beef between the rappers.

During an interview with TIME, the tennis legend explained that she was “absolutely not” shading Drake when she danced to Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”

Last month, Ohanian confronted ESPN “First Take” host Stephen A. Smith while making a guest appearance on the show and jabbed at Smith for saying Williams should get back with Drake after she joined Lamar at Super Bowl 2025.

Drake previously revealed he wrote his hit song, “Too Good,” with Rihanna for Williams.
