UFC analyst rips Isaac Dulgarian's 'F- performance' in suspicious UFC Vegas 110 loss

UFC analyst Michael Chiesa held nothing back with his thoughts about Isaac Dulgarian after Saturday's UFC Fight Night 263 loss to Yadier del Valle.

There is much speculation around the aftermath of the featherweight matchup at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Dulgarian (7-2 MMA, 2-2 UFC) was submitted with a rear-naked choke by del Valle (10-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) in the opening round after some suspicious pre-fight movement on the betting lines that raised red flags with bettors in the sport.

Following the conclusion of the contest, a number of notable sportsbooks have refunded any bets involving Dulgarian, further raising suspicion around the result of the fight and any potential foul play involved.

Chiesa did not specifically mention anything about a shift in betting odds or the possibility of Dulgarian throwing the fight. However, he did attack the technical elements of the performance and the many questionable elements of what unfolded.

"If you're on the main card of a UFC, it's one thing if you kind of get punched into submission, but a lot of Day 1 mistakes," Chiesa said on the ESPN post-fight show. "You can even hear on the broadcast like, 'What is this guy doing?' You peel the top hand. You don't punch behind you. That is the most useless strike you can possibly throw. I'm sitting here on the pre-show hyping you up as a guy that can go into the top five and win fights, and it doesn't even look like you can fight someone that's in the bottom of the top 500. I've got to be honest here. That was an F-performance. It was absolute trash.

"I'm not sitting here saying Del Valle is some scrub. The guy is undefeated for a reason, he's a great fighter. But for a guy in Dulgarian, you don't even run your feet. Every fight before you shoot and run through these guys. You shot to Del Valle. You let him control you. You know how to cut the corner, you know to run your feet, you know to re-attack. You know your short offence if you're caught in a front headlock. You fought like an amateur. He literally laid an egg, he fought like an amateur. You fought like a guy who doesn't even belong here. And I hate to just totally crap on the guy, but I've got to be honest in my assessment. If that's how you're going to fight, there's other people who are more deserving."

It remains to be seen what the subsequent follow-up of the situation will be. Social media users have noted a past association between Dulgarian and disgraced ex-coach James Krause, who was outlawed from the sport after being caught up in a betting-related scandal of his own.

Around the time of the of the Krause story and the government investigation into it, UFC CEO Dana White sent a stern warning to anyone associated with UFC fights about the consequences if proven guilty.

"We let these guys know not to bet on fights," White said. "You know what the outcome of this is? If I penalize them, you get cut. They're going to f*cking federal prison. Federal. F*cking. Prison. If you're that f*cking stupid and somebody else wants to do it, knock yourself out. There's not enough money in it to ruin your life and not go to jail, go to federal prison."
