2026 golf majors: Dates, places for Masters, PGA Championship, U.S. Open and British Open
It may seem like a ways off but before you know it, the four men's golf majors will be back.
The 2026 major venues are some really good ones, with the first one of the season at its normal spot at that famous place in Georgia and the last at a historic layout in England. In between are two East Coast majors held about a month apart.
When and where are the 2026 men's golf majors?
The Masters
Location: Augusta National Golf Club, Augusta, Georgia
Date: April 9-12
The year 2026 will see the 90th playing of the Masters. The first one, called the Augusta National Invitation Tournament, was held in 1934. It was not played in 1943, 1944 and 1945 due to World War II.
PGA Championship
Location: Aronimink Golf Club, Newtown Square, Pennsylvania
Date: May 14-17
The next PGA will be the 108th in tournament history. The first one was played in 1916.
U.S. Open
Location: Shinnecock Hills Golf Club, Southampton, New York
Date: June 18-21
The U.S. Open, first played in 1895, will be staged for the 126th time in 2026. The U.S. was not played on six occasions: 1917 and 1918 because of World War I and 1942, 1943, 1944 and 1945 because of World War II.
The Open Championship
Location: Royal Birkdale Golf Club, Southport, England
Date: July 16-19
The oldest major was first played in 1860 at Prestwick in Scotland. It wasn't held in 2020 due to the COVID pandemic, as well as from 1940 to 1945 because of World War II and from 1915 to 1919 because of World War I.
