The bots, when tested alone, performed impressively – correctly identifying medical conditions 95% of the time. But when real people used them for help, the results were alarmingly poor. The diagnosis was only correct in just 34.5 percent of cases and most of the time – 56 percent of cases – an incorrect decision about what to do only was made.
