SPORTS ROUND-UP: WeBo tennis breaks in new courts with win
The Western Boone boys tennis team broke in their new courts with a 5-0 win over Delphi on Tuesday afternoon.
At No. 1 singles, Jon Rutherford won 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Jacob Collins won 6-0, 6-0 and at No. 3 singles, Logan Cripe picked up his varsity victory with a 6-1, 6-2 win.
At No. 1 doubles, Easton Nance and Owen Oakley won 6-0, 6-0 and at No. 2 doubles, Zac Weesies and Burke Cavins won 6-0, 6-0 in their first match together.
The Stars travel to Covington on Thursday.
WeBo Girls Golf
The Western Boone girls golf team topped West Lafayette 181-198 at Ackerman-Allen on Tuesday.
Jada Scott led the team with a 43. Ally Lewis had a 44, Lexi Gregg had a 46 and Ila Stokes had a 48.
Jaylee Dickerson had a 51.
Lebanon Boys Soccer
The Lebanon boys soccer team lost to Ben Davis 5-2.
Logan Huntsman had both goals for the Tigers.
Lebanon Girls Soccer
The Lebanon girls soccer team lost to Sheridan 1-0 in their season opener late Monday.
The Tigers are back in action on Thursday at home against Covington.
Lebanon Girls Golf
The Lebanon girls golf team lost to Brownsburg 166-235 at Ulen.
Lucie Cassis led the Tigers with a 50.
Lexi Mitchell had a 55, Sam Dunshee had a 62, Mya Walters had a 68 and Brea Koerner had a 72.
Boys Tennis
The Lebanon tennis team lost to Bishop Chatard 5-0.
At No. 1 Casey Beckmann defeated Owen Kincaid 6-0, 6-0. At No. 2 singles, Brady Leppert topped Leo Johnson 6-2, 6-4 and at No. 3 singles, Will Ferrand topped Brayden Adams 6-2, 6-0.
At No. 1 doubles, David Park and Abe Osborn topped Simon Kyker and Jason Garrard 6-4, 6-3 and at No. 2 doubles Adrian Vicars and Gavin Murphy beat Kai Burcham and Javier Flores 6-2, 6-1.
