Viktor Hovland recreates iconic wives and girlfriends team photo after Europe's Ryder Cup win

Viktor Hovland got off to a rough start on Sunday as a nagging neck injury kept him from competing in a heated singles session at the Ryder Cup. The day ended all smiles though as Europe won for the first time on American soil since 2012.

During Europe’s official team photograph session, Hovland recreated an iconic photo from two years ago in Rome when, as the only guy there without a partner, he posed with all the wives and girlfriends of his teammates and captains.

Two years later, not much had changed for Hovland.

Hovland, 28, earned a half point despite not playing on Sunday, giving him an overall record of 1-1-1 at Bethpage. Captain Luke Donald said after the match he would’ve had absolute faith in Hovland being able to deliver a full point against Harris English.

“He couldn’t play,” said Donald. “He was gutted.”
