Max Homa off to solid start at Sanderson Farms Championship tied for fifth and just 2 back
JACKSON, Miss. — After missing six cuts in his first eight starts in 2025, Max Homa has been better in the second half of the season.
Homa has made four of the past five cuts and is coming off a T-19 finish at the Procore Championship. The upswing continued in Jacksonat the 2025 Sanderson Farms Championship. Homa shot 67 and is tied for fifth along with seven other golfers, just shots back of the lead.
"Just standard good golf," Homa said. "Nothing felt crazy good. Nothing was below average. Just a really good round of golf. Hit enough fairways, hit enough good iron shots, made enough putts. Nothing to write home about but also just very good."
During a walk-and-talk with Golf Channel's Todd Lewis on Thursday, Homa said he's playing this fall to improve his status for 2026.
"I would like to finish top 100 out of pride," Homa said during the telecast. Only the top 100 maintain their tour cards in 2026 and golfers will be using this week and the next five Falls series events to try to boost their numbers. "In general, just get better and get ready for next year."
