UFC Fight Night 261 bonuses: Charles Oliveira adds to absurd records

The UFC handed out four bonuses after Saturday's card in Brazil, including one to the main event winner who continued to extend his company records.

After UFC Fight Night 261, four fighters picked up an extra $ 50,000 for their performances at Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro. Check out the winners below.

Performance of the Night: Julia Polastri

Julia Polastri (14-5 MMA, 2-2 UFC) was a big betting favorite of around 6-1 against Karolina Kowalkiewicz (16-10 MMA, 9-10 UFC) on the prelims. After a patient 10 minutes, she started to light Kowalkiewicz up in the third and put her away moments after she landed a head kick.

Performance of the Night: Bia Mesquita

Bia Mesquita (6-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) was the biggest betting favorite on the card against Irina Alekseeva (5-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC), and the woman known as the GOAT of women’s jiu-jitsu backed up the hype. The former LFA women’s bantamweight champion dominated “Russian Ronda” and tapped her midway through the second round to back up her 6-1 favorite status.

Performance of the Night: Vitor Petrino

Vitor Petrino (13-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC) was having an ordinary fight against Thomas Petersen (10-4 MMA, 2-3 UFC) in their heavyweight prelim. Then Petrino caught him with a punch that crumpled him into an insane faceplant.

Performance of the Night: Charles Oliveira

Charles Oliveira (36-11 MMA, 24-11 UFC) extended several records when he submitted Mateusz Gamrot (25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC) with a second-round rear-naked choke. He has the most Performance of the Night bonuses in UFC history with 14, the most submissions in UFC history with 17 and the most finishes in UFC history with 21. The win also came in front of his home fans in Brazil – where he’s 18-0 lifetime and 7-0 in the UFC.
