Report: Ronda Rousey vs. Katie Taylor in the works
Ronda Rousey might not be done after all.
While rumors have swirled for weeks about a potential return, a report Monday indicates the story has some legs. According to Boxing Scene, a boxing bout between Rousey and Katie Taylor is in the works for 2026 in Las Vegas.
The report did not state under which promotional banner a potential bout would take place, but did say the fight has garnered attention from Netflix.
Rousey, 38, has not competed in combat sports since December 2016, when she lost to Amanda Nunes by first-round TKO. She competed in WWE from 2017-2019, and then again after the birth of her first child from 2022-2023. In 2025, she gave birth to her second child.
It's unclear if Rousey would even be cleared to compete should a promotion want to put the final stamp on a bout vs. Taylor. In her 2024 autobiography, Rousey detailed traumatic brain injuries were largely responsible for her retirement from fighting.
Additionally, Rousey has no professional boxing experience and will be going up against one of the biggest names in women's boxing history.
Taylor, 39, is one of only eight fighters in boxing history to hold all four major titles (IBF, WBC, WBO, and IBO) simultaneously. She holds a 25-1 record with her only loss coming against Chantelle Cameron in 2023. Taylor has not competed since July and announced in September that she planned to take a break from competition.
