UFC Vegas 112 Preview

UFC Vegas 112happens TONIGHT (Sat., Dec. 13, 2025) inside UFC’s APEX venue in Las Vegas, Nevada. This is the curtain closer for what has been a wild year for UFC and mixed martial arts (MMA).

And the card’s not half bad, either.

The main event is Brandon Royval vs. Manel Kape. Both men would have been watching UFC 323 closely last weekend. At that event, Joshua Van claimed the Flyweight title after a freak injury took Alexandre Pantoja out in the first round. That didn’t stop Van celebrating like he’d scored a walk-off knockout, though. Before that, Tatsuro Tairapounded out Brandon Moreno to earn a likely first crack at Van (since Pantoja is likely going to be out for a long time).

Van winning is/was a nightmare for Royval, who lost to Van in his previous fight. He’ll need a very impressive win over Kape (or Taira to win) to get himself another shot at that elusive 125-pound title. Kape would be a fresh match-up for either Van or Taira, so a good win over Royval probably has him sitting pretty as the next man up (barring a return from Pantoja).

Our co-main event is Giga Chikadze vs. Kevin Vallejos. The aging Chikadze is hoping to prove he’s still a factor at Featherweight and not just a gatekeeper for the impressive neophyte Vallejos to run through.

UFC Vegas 112’s main card also has Cesar Almdeida vs. Cezary Oleksiejczuk. That’s a debut fight for the younger brother of Michal Oleksiejczuk. There’s also Melquizael Costa vs. Morgan Charriere (that should be a lot of fun) and Kenndy Nzechukwu vs. Marcus Buchecha (can the Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend get his first UFC win here?). The main card also has King Green vs. Lance Gibson Jr., which was put together on ultra short notice.

The pick of the “Prelims” fights include Neil Magny taking on former Bellator Welterweight champion, Yaroslav Amosov.

UFC Vegas 112 Play-By-Play Updates

Main card

King Green vs. Lance Gibson Jr.

Official decision: King Green def. Lance Gibson Jr. by split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)

Round 3: Gibson Jr. starts to talk back. He’s playing Green’s game now. Green responds with words and moves towards Gibson Jr., forcing Gibson Jr. to back up. Gibson Jr. comes back and lands a takedown, though. Green gets up before he can do anything with it. Both swing big and miss. Green comes back and lands a nice uppercut, though. Green catches a kick and spins Gibson Jr., he then lands a takedown with 30 seconds left. Green lands some ground and pound, which is more than Gibson Jr. has done during any of his times on top. Green steals the round and fight with that ending.

29-28 Green

Round 2: Green still talking. He’s trying to get in Gibson Jr.‘s head and it might be working. Gibson Jr. might be fighting to his game-plan, but he’s also showing zero personality and not very much aggression. The action is paused for a low blow on Gibson Jr. Off the restart Gibson Jr. attacks and lands a big takedown against the fence. Green bucks and gets to his feet. Gibson Jr. stays on him and pushes him into the fence. Gibson Jr. tries to get a second takedown, but he can’t. He has to back away. Green strolls after him. Gibson Jr. lands some nice hard leg kicks, but he still seems too shy to commit to much else. He gets the round, though, thanks to the takedown and those few hard shots he landed.

19-19

Round 1: Gibson Jr. lands a buckling leg kick to get things started. Green is walking like a mummy trying to close the distance. Gibson Jr. is springy and moving back, he’s still able to land another hard leg kick, though. Green’s hands are down by his knees. Green is trying to coax Gibson Jr. into playing rock ‘em sock ‘em robots, but Gibson Jr. is being too smart to oblige. Green’s talking and confidence might have made Gibson Jr. second guess going forwards, he’s kind of stuck on the outside. Green hasn’t landed anything hard, but he’s chipping away and looking like the guy winning the fight.

10-9 Green

Let’s see what Green’s got left in the tank.

Will Gibson be the second Bellator guy to win his UFC debut tonight?

After a pretty meh “Prelims” card we head to the Main card. Our first fight is one that was put together on Wednesday, with King Green making his first appearance since that crushing KO loss to Mauricio Ruffy. Lance Gibson Jr., the stepson of Julia Budd, is making his promotional debut.

The main event fighters are in the building.
