Haotong Li delivers most electric ending ever during 15-minute simulator ace challenge on TPC Sawgrass’ 17th hole
It’s only January and the year’s first PGA Tour tournament hasn't even begun, but the finish of the year has already come and gone. Hold on, let us explain.
On Tuesday, the PGA Tour welcomed one of its new members for 2026, Haotong Li, to golf’s most pressure-packed circuit with a simple challenge: Make a hole-in-one on a simulator version of TPC Sawgrass’ iconic 17th hole … in 15 minutes. What happened next needs to be seen to be believed.

Incredible. After sticking dart after dart, on the final swing of the challenge with the clock ticking inside 10 seconds, Li stuck one 10 feet past the pin and reeled it back down the slope and into the bottom of the cup. If there had been crowd, they would have gone absolutely apesh*t.
As the old slogan goes, these guys are GOOD. Like really, really ridiculously good. But Li had at least some prior experience. According to the four-time DP World Tour winner, he’s played TPC Sawgrass twice before. Asked how he normally does on the 17th, though, he simply replied with an expletive.
Of course, in a few months’ time, Li will learn just how much more intimidating the infamous island green is with real wind, real water, real fans and real money on the line, but this should do wonders for his confidence.
