Errol Spence Jr. will end a three-year layoff this summer.

The former unified welterweight champion is set to return to the ring at 154 pounds to face former WBO super welterweight champion Tim Tszyu, with an exact date and location to be determined.

Ring Magazine was first with the news Monday.

Tszyu (26-3, 18 KOs) will first return in a tune-up bout prior to the fight. The Aussie will reportedly fight at the end of March on the Gold Coast or in Melbourne against an American opponent. That March card would be promoted by No Limit and could also feature the Lewis Crocker vs. Liam Paro IBF welterweight title fight the promotion won bids to.

Tszyu formerly held the WBO super welterweight title from 2023 until losing it to Sebastian Fundora in March 2024. Tszyu attempted to become a two-time champion in his following fight against Bakhram Murtazaliev but was knocked out early.

A second defeat to Fundora followed this past July. The loss forced Tszyu to reevaluate his situation, which ultimately led to him parting ways with his uncle and long-time trainer, Igor Goloubev, and manager Glen Jennings — the latter of which looks to be headed to the Supreme Court in New South Wales after Jennings alleged a breach of contract.

Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) hasn't fought since his ninth-round TKO defeat at the hands of Terence Crawford for the undisputed welterweight title in July 2023. It was the first defeat of the ex-unified champion's career.

Spence also has his own legal problems to navigate. His long-time trainer Derrick James is suing Spence for upwards of $ 5 million in Texas, alleging unpaid training fees. The case is set to go to trial on March 24. It is unclear who Spence has been training with for the past few years — if he has at all — and who will be in his corner on the night of his comeback bout.
