Fury v Makhmudov undercard confirmed including two heavyweight fights

The undercard for Tyson Fury vs Arslanbek Makhmudov has been finalised with two heavyweight battles supporting Conor Benn’s return following two epic grudge matches with Chris Eubank Jr.

‘The Destroyer’ took the controversial move to walk out on Matchroom to join promoter Eddie Hearn’s rival Dana White, the face of rising promotional outfit and TKO-backed Zuffa Boxing.

That has led to a reported $ 15m payday and high-profile bout with Regis Prograis at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 11 April.

Benn said: “April 11th can’t come soon enough, returning to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium again, where I made history against Eubank Jr means everything to me. My last fight there showed the world exactly who I am and what I’m about. Fighting on the biggest stages, in the biggest shows, I fear no one! I’m fully locked in and ready to deliver another statement performance.”

While Prograis added: “Last time I fought in London, Conor Benn was on my undercard, so this is a full-circle moment for me. But this circle will close with me teaching him a lesson on April 11th. He’s not fighting some weight-drained super middleweight. I am in shape and will bring home this victory.”

Elsewhere on the undercard, British Heavyweight Champion Jeamie TKV (9-2-0) puts his title up for grabs against rising heavyweight talent Richard Riakporhe (19-1-0), who is 2-0 since jumping up from cruiserweight.

Frazer Clarke (9-2-1), defeated by TKV last time out, returns against the highly-rated Australian contender Justis Huni (12-1-0), who was stunned by Fabio Wardley in the 10th round, despite controlling large spells of the contest, with the Ipswich man going on to become the WBO world heavyweight title.

Huni said: “I’m truly honoured to be fighting in London on such a huge card headlined by Tyson Fury. The UK has a proud boxing tradition, and it means a lot to perform in front of these fans. April 11 is another important step in my journey, and I’m coming to deliver a strong performance and show I belong at the very top.”
