‘Angry’ Khamzat confrontation spooked Sean Strickland: ‘Next day he was walking with the gun in the gym’

Welcome to Midnight Mania!

Let’s start the night off by taking a look back over the three biggest stories of Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025.

  1. Pink slip? Winless UFC Bantamweight Nazi deletes Instagram after violent rant: Surely there is a really good Bantamweight prospect out there who could make good use of this roster position?
  2. Unlikely supporter Jiri Prochazka defends Magomed Ankalaev’s UFC 320 injury: ‘Totally different person’: I have no doubt that Ankaleav suffered injuries and didn’t have ideal preparation for UFC 320, but that doesn’t really excuse such a quick, one-sided knockout loss. Everybody’s injured all the time …
  3. Dana White believed UFC was ‘not the place’ for ‘stupid’ Merab — but is now ‘very warm’ to ‘impressive’ UFC champ: This Merab retrospective is a nice reminder that Dvalishvili could easily be undefeated outright in the Octagon were the officiating a little different in his first two bouts.

Insomnia

Given Sean Strickland’s general love of carrying guns into the gym, Khamzat’s beef with Strickland might actually be a bit of a misunderstanding!

Derek Brunson isn’t impressed by Kevin Holland’s declaration that he “sucks ass.” Talking trash on two men who decisively beat you is an interesting strategy.

An intriguing grappler vs. striker match up at 145 pounds.

Khabib is obviously a star in America, but I think it’s hard for us here to fathom just how big “The Eagle” is in his home country.

I actually remember when this fight happened. Nick Klein was a well-regarded Lightweight prospect, whereas Drew Dober was barely UFC calibre. Times have changed, but this story remains a classic!

There is only one Jiri Prochazka, example #10,000,000:

A friendly bit of sparring between two Brazilian UFC fighters (and a 40 pound weight differential):

Tim Elliott has an outrageous chin.

Slips, rips, and KO clips

The rise of the spinning elbow is maybe the best part of MMA in 2025.

The throw-by to jumping back take was so smooth!

The shove into the ropes, mix of speed and power, hitting to the body — beautiful stuff!

Random Land

Debate! I’m going NYC personally.
