For most tennis players, lifting that Wimbledon trophy on Centre Court is the ultimate dream. It’s one that only a select few ever get to live out. But for Jannik Sinner, that’s no longer just a fantasy; it’s now part of his story.

Once the adrenaline fades and the celebrations calm down, the reality will really sink in for him: He’s a Wimbledon champion. And the best part? The guy standing on the other side of the net on Sunday, Carlos Alcaraz, had nothing but praise for him afterward, a classy reminder that even when you’re on top, there is still room for respect amongst rivals.

Sinner, still in disbelief of what had happened, posted a series of pictures on Instagram with a caption that said, “Am i still dreaming?”

Alcaraz commented on the photo with a classy response saying, “Well deserved jannik! Enjoy this moment! More to come”

In the post-match interviews, Carlos Alcaraz made it clear that Sinner’s big Wimbledon win didn’t surprise him one bit. He said he knows Sinner is a true champion, the kind who learns from every loss. After their classic final earlier this summer at Roland-Garros, which Alcaraz won in five sets, Alcaraz knew Sinner wouldn’t make the same mistakes twice.

He also talked about how special their rivalry is becoming, saying it’s not just good for them but for tennis as a whole.

He feels their matches push each other to a level you rarely see. Facing Sinner in Grand Slam and Masters finals keeps raising the bar, and Alcaraz loves that it forces him to give 100% every single day. He’s genuinely grateful for what their battles bring out in him.
