Dana White ranks Alexa Grasso's UFC Seattle finish as an all-timer
Dana White had high praise for Alexa Grasso after UFC Fight Night 271.
Grasso (17-5-1 MMA, 9-5-1 UFC) delivered one of the top moments of 2026 on Saturday when she brutally stopped Maycee Barber (15-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC) in the first round of their co-main event rematch at Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle. The former women’s flyweight champ dropped Barber with a huge punch, clipped her again on the way down, then jumped on the neck for a rear-naked choke before referee Mike Beltran could pull of her off.
Despite having Barber fully locked in a submission maneuver when the referee intervened, the result was deemed a knockout as Barber was seemingly unconscious before she hit the mat. The highlight went viral and sent the MMA world into a craze, with UFC CEO White among those in awe.
“I think it’s one of the greatest finishes in the sport’s history, let alone this year or tonight or whatever,” White told reporters at the UFC Fight Night 271 post-fight news conference. “It was incredible.”
White has seen thousands of fights during his more than 25-year tenure as UFC boss. His comments about Grasso’s win are arguably not hyperbole, though.
The moment was heightened even further for the Mexican because she entered on a three-fight winless skid. Grasso, 32, needed to bounce back, and she did so in the most spectacular of ways.
