Gallagher retains titles with unanimous points win
Tysie Gallagher retained her British, Commonwealth and WBO international super-bantamweight titles with a unanimous points win over previously unbeaten Ellie Hellewell in Sheffield.
Gallagher, from Luton, accepted a fight in Hellewell's South Yorkshire homeland in order to return to the ring for the first time in 12 months.
She has dedicated her ring career to her mother-in-law, Diane Cleary, who was murdered in January, and was adjudged the winner on the scorecards of all three judges by a wide margin after 10 rounds.
The victory improved her record to 10-2 and she hopes it will now lead to another world title shot, having lost to Segolene Lefebvre in France by a majority verdict in November 2023.

"This means everything to me, my family are all happy and buzzing," she told DAZN Sports.
"It's been a tough year, so getting that win – and a nice, comfortable win as well [is great]. I was very disciplined and I'm excited for what's next."
Gallagher, 27, had been due to defend her titles against Ebonie Jones in May, but the fight was cancelled after he opponent failed to make the weight.
Hellewell's defeat was her first in eight contests since making her professional debut at the end of 2022.
