Girls golf state finals: Okemos, Lansing Catholic in team title mix

The Okemos girls golf team enters the final day of the state finals in the mix for a state championship.

The Wolves are in second place after the opening round of play on Friday, Oct. 17 at The Meadows at Grand Valley.

Okemos shot a 332 as a team and is 10 strokes behind Northville and a stroke ahead of Rochester Adams and Macomb Dakota.

Freshman Saisha Patil led the Wolves and is third individually after shooting a round of 76. She is five strokes off the lead. Sophomore Anika Srivastava is in 12th place and had a round of 78 for Okemos.

Holt’s Racheeni Her is also among the top individuals and enters play Oct. 18 in 14th place after carding a 78.

DIVISION 4 AT FERRIS STATE

Lansing Catholic heads into the second day of play two strokes off the lead after shooting a 376 as a team. Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian owns the top spot with a round of 374,

Bath freshman Addilyn Duflo is the individual leader enter play Oct. 18 after shooting a round of 78. She has a one stroke lead and helped Bath enter the final round in sixth place in the team standings with a score of 393.

Fowler’s Noelle Krepps is fifth individually and shot an 82, while Lansing Catholic’s Addi Rule had a round of 90 and is eighth.

Rule is one of two golfers from Lansing Catholic who ranked among the top individuals. Eryn O’Connell fired a round of 92 and is in 12th place for the Cougars.

DIVISION 2 AT BEDFORD VALLEY

Mason is in 10th place after the first round of play on Oct. 17 and shot a 377 as a team to lead the Greater Lansing participants. Owosso is 13th and DeWitt is in 18th place entering the final round of play.

Owosso freshman Samantha Ross was the top area individual I the opening round. She is in 10 th place after finishing with a round of 79.

Mason sophomore Ruby Petee is 15th on the individual leaderboard and shot an 84.

DIVISION 3 AT FOREST AKERS WEST

Charlotte shot a 422 as a team in the opening round at Michigan State on Oct. 17 and is 15th in the team standings. Junior Peyton Howarth had a round of 93 and is in 26th place individually to lead the Orioles.

Ionia’s Lila Redder and Williamston’s Paige Radebach are just outside the top 10 individually and each had rounds of 85.
