HOLY highlights! MMA Friday produces all-time women’s bloodbath, one-legged jumping knee knockout, and a 14-second LFA finish

Fight fans witnessed a plethora of memorable finishes on Friday’s regional mixed martial arts (MMA) circuit, including a women’s bloodbath for the ages, a one-legged jumping knee knockout, and a 14-second finish that set the Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) cage ablaze.

The MMA weekend will culminate with UFC Vegas 111 later tonight in “Sin City” (full results HERE), but things started off with a bang on Friday. The regional scene doesn’t always deliver, but when it does it usually comes in waves. Friday was a tidal wave that swallowed up any fight fan standing in its way.

Leading the charge was one of the bloodiest women’s fights of all time and arguably the most blood-soaked fight of all of 2025. It occurred at Urijah Faber’s A-1 Combat 32 in Wheatland, California. The fight was a strawweight bout between young prospects Aysia Cortez and Katarina Legorreta. Cortez turned out to be the more violent fighter and put an absolutely beating on Legorreta, even making her trip on her own blood trail before the finishing sequence.

Next up was a lightning-fast knockout finish at LFA 221 in Brazil. The moment occurred during a middleweight clash between streaking finisher Gustavo Guilherme and the previously undefeated Gustavo Sousa. In just 14 seconds, Guilherme overwhelmed Sousa with strikes and landed a perfectly-placed right hand that sent his Brazilian counterpart crashing to the canvas. A few more insurance shots later and Guilherme walked away with the easy paycheck.

Last but certainly not least, fight fans got to see a one-legged jumping knee knockout courtesy of Angel Amaya at Legion MMA 9 in Venezuela. The Venezuelan fighter made things look easy when his opponent, Daniel Romero, grabbed a hold of his leg during a transition from the mat to standing position. Romero maintained the hold and it allowed Amaya to time one of the nicest knee knockouts of the year.
