Khamzat Chimaev ‘Putting Bounty On Himself’ During Epic UFC 328 Camp
Khamzat Chimaev is reportedly pulling no punches in preparation for his upcoming middleweight title defense against former training partner Sean Strickland at UFC 328 this May.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Chimaev’s first official defense of his 185-pound belt will come against Strickland in less than two months in Newark, New Jersey. That doesn’t leave either fighter a ton of time to prepare for one of the biggest grudge matches of the year, but training camps have already begun for both Chimaev and Strickland. They will each dedicate the next eight weeks to prepare for UFC 328’s main event clash.
According to former UFC champion and current color commentator, Daniel Cormier, Chimaev is already turning in a legendary training camp for his showdown with Strickland. This includes Chimaev paying elite fighters cold hard cash if they are able to beat him or submit him in the gym. Cormier claims Chimaev’s efforts are like “nothing we’ve ever seen before.”

“I’ve heard stories out of the Chimaev camp that Chimaev is training so hard and putting it on guys — elite level guys — like nothing we’ve ever seen before,” said Cormier. “I have heard Khamzat Chimaev wants people to go so hard with him to try to beat him and submit him that he’s paying them. He doesn’t care.
“Khamzat is putting a bounty on himself.”
