Matthew McConaughey messages Peyton Stearns after she wins the ATX Open in Austin
Matthew McConaughey is among the icons congratulating Peyton Stearns after she won the ATX Open in Austin.
Stearns is now a two-time champion on the WTA Tour, having also clinched the title in Rabat in 2024.
Her latest title came after a victory over fellow American Taylor Townsend, who was playing in her maiden singles final.
Stearns beat Townsend 7-6(10-8), 7-5 in Texas, and has now received many messages of congratulations.

Actor McConaughey was quick to share in her success, writing on X: “Longhorn Peyton Stearns wins ATX Open – Top level match and run to the trophy P.”
Stearns was playing at her de facto home tournament, having played college tennis at the nearby University of Texas.
The champion, who has just risen 14 places in the world rankings to 48th, battled past doubles specialist Townsend after two hours and 22 minutes.
The pair were quick to congratulate each other after their lengthy clash, which would have delighted fans in Austin.
Much like actors Ben Stiller and Zendaya, McConaughey is an avid tennis fan, with the Texan having been in attendance at the ATX Open.

Iconic figure McConaughey has been joined in congratulating Stearns by many tennis stars, such as Jessica Pegula.
Pegula was the defending champion at the ATX Open, but was ruled out of this year’s tournament due to injury.
She is, however, delighted for Stearns, who posted on Instagram after her title: “Austin… no words can describe how it feels to win a title here.
“So many special memories and many firsts in this city. Thank you for all the support, hook ’em.”
Pegula responded: “Congrats,” with their fellow American WTA player Danielle Collins commenting: “Queen of ATX.”
It was a fantastic run on home soil from Stearns, who was involved in several tricky matches en route to the title.
The 24-year-old fourth seed knocked out Francesca Jones, Kaja Juvan, Oksana Selekhmeteva and Kimberly Birrell before edging past Townsend.
