McIlroy waiting for consistent golf to pay off in victories

Rory McIlroy is playing his most consistent golf since the end of 2011 and the start of 2012, when he finished no worse than third in nine out of 12 tournaments worldwide with two victories, the latter in the Honda Classic that put him at No. 1 in the world for the first time. McIlroy preaches patience, and the real measure will be at the Masters next month when he tries to complete the career Grand Slam. What really stands out is that Bay Hill was the ninth time in his last 30 tournaments dating to 2018 that he played in the final group without winning.
