Mickelson says he is too divisive to be a Ryder Cup captain
Phil Mickelson doesn't see himself as U.S. captain in the Ryder Cup because “I'm a very divisive character right now” as a player and chief promoter of Saudi-funded LIV Golf. The Ryder Cup was mentioned Wednesday during Mickelson's long-winded conversation about LIV Golf on “The Pat McAfee Show.” Mickelson played on every Ryder Cup team from 1995 through 2018, and he was a vice captain in 2021.
