Tennis star Sachia Vickery is going viral for her side hustle.
As the U.S. Open heats up, Vickery is making headlines for her OnlyFans account.
“I’m very open-minded and I don’t care what people think of me,” Vickery said during an Instagram Q&A this week. “It’s also the easiest money I’ve ever made and I enjoy doing it.”
Men who are interested in the tennis star can subscribe to her content for $ 12.99 a month.
“I no longer date for free due to the behavior of men I now require a pre-date deposit. Send me $ 1,000 and we can make it happen,” Vickery wrote.
Vickery created her account in January and says the backlash is unwarranted for women who create accounts on the adult content subscription site.
“I will never talk s–t about girls on OnlyFans ever again for the rest of my life,” Vickery said in her Instagram Q&A. “Because the amount I made on there in my first two days, I am overwhelmed. I am just shook really.”
How has tennis helped her OnlyFans career?
Vickery has been playing tennis since she was six and has won three titles in the International Tennis Federation circuit. She is currently ranked No. 559 in the world, and everyone knows that building a brand is part of making money online.
“Being a tennis player definitely helped my marketing,” she added. “I’m at a stage where I don’t do the absolute most on there, but I’m comfortable as I need to be. I’m doing really well.”
Arina Rodionova, Nick Kyrgios, and Sofya Zhuk are also some tennis stars who have turned to the platform for some extra cash.
Mark Borkowski, a crisis PR consultant and author, told Daily Mail that Rodionova and others who choose to make accounts on the website view it as a smart business move.
"Let’s be real: tennis is a punishing career path unless you’re cracking the top tier, and the sponsorship money isn’t exactly pouring in for those grinding away on the fringes."
He continued: "So why wouldn’t athletes look elsewhere to monetise their brand? OnlyFans has shed its early scandalous sheen and evolved into a creator economy platform where sports stars can engage their audience directly – and, crucially, get paid for it without waiting for a tournament cheque or a reluctant corporate sponsor."
She has reportedly earned $ 2 million in 14 years of playing pro tennis. While Vickery earned a spot in the U.S. Open, it all ended on Thursday (Aug. 21) when she was defeated in the second round of qualifying by Ella Seidel.
