Top 4 singles, doubles seeds reach Girls Tennis Individuals semis

The CIF Central Section girls tennis individuals tournament, which was postponed last week due to rain, fully completed its first two rounds Wednesday at both Garces High and the Bakersfield Racquet Club.

Garces head coach and tournament director Marty Crider, whose school is the host site, said the last two rounds, beginning with singles and doubles semifinals, are scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Garces, weather permitting. The title matches in both will take place at noon.

Tournament play Wednesday got the field down to the top four seeds in both categories.

Saturday’s schedule

Singles (semifinals) — No. 1 seed and freshman Yuktaa Pandit of Clovis West will face No. 4 seed Stockdale sophomore Jordan Li. Clovis East’s Jaden Patalinghug, the No. 3 seed, will take on No. 2 seed Abigail Eao of Stockdale.
