Tom Aspinall is officially the top guy in the UFC’s heavyweight division. Can he hold onto the UFC heavyweight title when he defends against multi-time contender Ciryl Gane at UFC 321 on October 25?

Aspinall (15-3) got injured in a loss against Curtis Blaydes in 2022. Since then, he won interim gold during a three-fight win streak, where none of the contests made it out of the first round. He was promoted to full-time champion after Jon Jones retired.

After all these years of waiting, Aspinall has the football. Now, it’s up to the Salford-born fighter, who holds the record for shortest average fight time in UFC history, to hold onto it.

Gane (13-2) has held interim gold but is 0-2 in undisputed title fights. The French fighter lasted less than one round against Jones before tapping out in 2023. He’s since won two straight and looks to prove why he should be in this position.

The co-main event will see Virna Jandiroba and Mackenzie Dern compete for the UFC strawweight title. The title became vacant after Zhang Weili vacated the belt to fight Valentina Shevchenko.

An important bantamweight fight between Umar Nurmagomedov and Mario Bautista is also on the card. Alexander Volkov and Jailton Almeida fight to determine the next heavyweight contender, while Nasrat Haqparast, Chris Barnett, and more return to action.
