Video: Alex Pereira brings father to tears with surprise gift
Known for his stone-faced killer demeanor, UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira rarely displays his emotional side.
Occasionally, through social media, it comes out – sometimes in the form of gift-giving to his loved ones, as was the case Monday when Pereira (13-3 MMA, 10-2 UfC) posted a video of him gifting his father a golf cart.
Pereira kept it a surprise and made his father cover his eyes as they walked to the driveway. Shortly after the unveiling, the waterworks began for the elder Pereira. The two then took a ride together in the new whip.
"Very happy to be able to present my dad, he deserves it a lot because he stopped having his own things to be able to raise seven children, thank you dad," Pereira wrote.
It's not the first time Pereira has surprised someone close to him with a vehicle. In 2023, he surprised his coach and mentor, Glover Teixeira, with a new Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
It's been quite the few weeks for Pereira despite not having a fight on the books. On New Year's Eve, he and UFC flyweight Tracy Cortez announced a romantic relationship on social media.
