Video: Usman Nurmagomedov's suffocating PFL Dubai win over Alfie Davis
Usman Nurmagomedov went to Dubai and did exactly what he was supposed to do.
Nurmagomedov (21-0) defended his lightweight title with a third-round submission of challenger Alfie Davis (20-6-1) on Saturday in the PFL Dubai main event at Coca-Cola Arena. Nurmagomedov was as much as a 24-1 betting favorite at some sportsbooks at fight time.
The 33-year-old Davis, from England, had a three-fight winning streak snapped on the biggest stage of his career so far.
Nurmagomedov, cousin of former UFC champion Khabib, stayed perfect and picked up his first stoppage win in nearly three years. He reportedly has just one fight left on his deal with the PFL. The list below him for possible next challengers is topped by Archie Colgan (13-0).
Check out all the highlights from the lightweight title fight in the video above, as well as highlights from the rest of the card.
