What to know about the PNC Championship for TV, tee times, groups

Christmas is right around the corner. It’ll be New Year’s Eve before you know it. And then the 2026 pro golf seasons will tee off.

But first, there’s one last event in which to partake: the PNC Championship. It’s a fun, family event that puts a wrap on the silly season but also closes the book on live golf for 2025.

Here’s everything you need to know about the tournament.

What is the PNC Championship?

Originally launched in 1995 as the Father Son Challenge, with PGA Tour pros playing alongside their sons, the event then evolved over time. In 2017, Tour players started playing with their dads. In 2019, the gender barrier came down with the addition of LPGA legend Annika Sorenstam entered the field. Now, the tournament features PGA Tour and LPGA standouts playing with dads, sons, stepsons and daughters.

Where to watch the PNC Championship

The event is a two-day, 36-hole affair played over the weekend but the live TV coverage starts with Friday’s pro-am. The Saturday and Sunday rounds will be seen across the NBC Sports family of networks with Golf Channel, Peacock and NBC all taking turns.

Who’s playing in the PNC Championship?

There are 40 golfers playing, as there are 20 two-person teams. The rules are that each team must feature a major champion or someone who has won the Players Championship as well as a non-professional golfer.

What are the tee times for the PNC Championship?

So far, we only have the Saturday first-round tee sheet, which features Bernard Langer and son Jason, the two-time defending champions, in the final group.

What is the format for the PNC Championship?

On each hole, each player drives and the best drive is selected. Each player then plays a second shot from the spot where the selected drive lies, and the best second shot is selected. This process is repeated until the hole is completed.

Where is the PNC Championship?

The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Orlando, Grande Lakes is hosting once again. The golf course is a Greg Norman design that opened in 2003. It is also a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.
