Polly Mack opened and closed her round with back-to-back birdies on her way to nine-under par 63 and a one-stroke lead after Thursday's first round of the LPGA Portland Classic.Mack, a back-nine starter, birdied the par-5 10th and par-4 11th, then eagled the par-5 12th and birdied the 15th.
