Scottie Scheffler’s Wife Meredith’s Immediate Reaction to Byron Nelson Win
Scottie Scheffler dominated the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in McKinney, Texas, shooting 31-under-par 253 to tie the PGA Tour’s 72-hole scoring record, winning by eight strokes for his 14th title.
Scheffler’s wife Meredith Scheffler provided a heartwarming and unfiltered reaction moments after her husband clinched the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.
In a video shared by PGA Tour on X (formerly Twitter), Meredith breaks into a smile as she lifts baby Bennett into her arms. Scottie then walks over, and the three share an emotional embrace. Afterwards, both parents spend some heartwarming moments with their son, celebrating together.
Scheffler matched the PGA Tour’s 72-hole scoring record first set by Justin Thomas in 2017. His final-round bogey on the par-3 17th kept him shy of breaking the record outright, but his eight-shot lead over South African Erik van Rooyen was the largest margin ever recorded at this event.

The victory, Scheffler’s first of the year, was further colored by its location at the very tournament where he made his professional debut as a teenager in 2014, with his sister caddying.
“I grew up coming to watch it. This was my first start on the PGA Tour when I was in high school. The girl I was dating at the time is now my wife,” said Scheffler.
“My family was all able to be here, and it was just really, really special memories, and I think at times it all comes crashing down to me at once. We have a lot of great memories as kids coming to watch this tournament. I just dreamed to be able to play in it, and it’s more of a dream to be able to win it.” He added.
