Who is headlining the Hall of Fame Open? Here's who is coming to Newport this summer
The Newport Tennis Hall of Fame field will look different this summer.
A women’s singles and doubles tournament joins the traditional men’s matches. The ATP Challenger and WTA 125 tournaments are slightly less competitive than the previous 250-level men’s field.
But there’s still plenty of great competitors heading to Rhode Island this summer. The women’s field features seven players currently ranked in the top 100, including four Americans, according to the Hall’s press release this week. The men’s side boasts five of the eight quarterfinalists from last year’s tournament.
Here’s who is headlining the field from July 6-13 at the Newport Casino.
Hailey Baptiste
Baptiste is searching for her first career title but is a rising star on the circuit. The 23-year-old currently holds her highest world ranking, 56, and a 218-147 all-time record. The American could play deep into the tournament.
Jenson Brooksby
The 24-year-old from California won at Houston in March of this year. Brooksby won the ATP 250 title, 6-4, 6-2, over Frances Tiafoe. Brooksby was a Newport finalist in 2021.
Christopher Eubanks
Eubanks is a familiar face to Newport. He was a quarterfinalist at Wimbledon in 2023 and is currently ranked 108th in the world. Eubanks is only 3-5 this year and has lost in the first round of both of his recent tournaments.
Rinky Hijikata
The 24-year-old Australian is the highest-ranked men’s player in the tournament. At 74th overall, Hijikata reached the semifinals on Birmingham’s grass earlier this month and reached the same round at Bordeaux in May. His highest career rank is 62, which he achieved last August.
Adrian Mannarino
The veteran returns to Newport for the 12th time in his career. Mannarino defeated Alex Michelsen for the 2023 crown and is well-known at Newport Casino. He’s currently ranked 128th in the world with a 305-349 record.
Tatjana Maria
Maria is currently ranked 43rd in the world and recently won at London’s Queens Club, 6-3, 6-4, vs. Amanda Anisimova. Maria, 37, became the oldest player to claim a WTA title since Serena Williams in Auckland in 2020. The triumph catapulated her up the world’s ranks. She also reached the semifinals of Wimbledon in 2022 and has won four career titles.
Alycia Parks
The 24-year-old is ranked 47th in the world, the second highest in the women’s field, with a 207-206 record. Parks enters Newport at 13-16 this year with losses in the first round of her last two matches. Parks won her first career title at Lyon in 2023.
Tristan Schoolkate
Schoolkate just won the ATP Challenger title on grass for his second Challenger crown in 2025. He also won at Brisbane in January. The 24-year-old could crack the top 100 world ranking this year.
Rounding out the top 5 players in both tournaments
Aleksandar Kovacevic (77th in the world) sits right behind Hijikata as the highest-ranked men’s player in the tournament. Aleksandar Vukic (83), Ethan Quinn (95) and Mackenzie McDonald (98) round out the top-5 men’s players.
Yue Yuan (84) and American, Katie Volynets (96) follow Maria, Parks and Baptiste at the top of the women’s field.
