Xu to face Miyazaki in Wrexham Open semi-finals
Mimi Xu is through to the semi-finals of the Wrexham Open after a 6-3, 6-3 straight sets win over France's Harmony Tan.
During Thursday's second-round match Xu had to come from behind in both sets, but she had no such trouble in the quarter-finals.
A double fault by Tan with the first set level at 3-3 handed Xu two breaks points, which she took advantage of at the first attempt.
Another break of serve sealed the first set, and Xu continued to dominate proceedings by breaking Tan once more early in the second set.
The 18-year-old from Swansea will face Yuriko Lily Miyazaki in Saturday's semi-final after her 3-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Jana Otzipka.
The other semi-final will see Elena Malygina take on Mika Stojsavljevic.
Malygina dropped just one game in her quarter-final against Ella McDonald to win 6-1, 6-0.
Stojsavljevic also made easy work of her last eight match, beating Lucie Havlickova 6-2, 6-2.
Both semi-finals take place on Saturday, with the Wrexham Open final set for Sunday.
