Michael Bisping cautions Leon Edwards on what's at stake at UFC 322.

Edwards (22-5 MMA, 14-4 UFC) will look to snap a two-fight losing skid when he takes on dangerous contender Carlos Prates (22-7 MMA, 5-1 UFC) on Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden.

Edwards lost the welterweight title to Belal Muhammad, then was dominated in a submission loss to Sean Brady at UFC Fight Night 255. If he wants to stay relevant in the division, Bisping urges him to bring the fight to Prates.

"As much as I love my U.K. brethren, Leon Edwards needs to win here – and it's a tough fight," Bisping told MMA Junkie. "Leon was flying high. … After going on a win streak like that and losing two in a row, of course, I'm sure 'Rocky' would agree he's got to get a win here.

"The problem is that he's taking on Carlos Prates, a guy who is playing the game Leon wants to play, and the man is flying high. He's a knockout artist. This is the kind of fight where we're going to see 'Rocky' bite down on his mouth piece, because he ain't going to have to struggle to find Carlos Prates. Carlos Prates is going to go right at him, and hopefully we're all in for some fun."

Edwards mapped out a two-fight plan to get back to the title picture. Jack Della Maddalena defends his welterweight strap against Islam Makhachev in the UFC 322 headliner, but what does a Makhachev win mean for the division?

"I don't know what Islam Makhachev's intentions are," Bisping said. "I believe he's going to stay at welterweight and defend at welterweight. However, there is the Ilia Topuria narrative and storyline, and I'm sure we as MMA fans would all love to see that. I'm sure (all the welterweight contenders) would love JDM to defend the strap and then they all get a shot, because you never know what's going to happen if Islam becomes the champ."
