The last time Brandon Royval had his hand raised in the octagon, fans witnessed one of the best fights in UFC flyweight history.

Back in October 2024, Royval went to war with Japanese contender Tatsuro Taira in the main event of UFC Fight Night 244. It was a wild affair with many ups and downs for both fighters, but in the end, Royval was able to out-slug and outlast Taira to win a close, split decision. It was one hell of a fight that won the Fight of the Night award.

Royval (17-8 MMA, 7-4 UFC) is scheduled to get back into action this Saturday in the main event of UFC Fight Night 266 (ESPN+), which takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. He takes on fellow veteran contender Manel Kape (21-7 MMA, 6-3 UFC) in a five-round flyweight bout.
