Tennis icon Venus Williams is set to compete in the 2026 Australian Open as the eldest participant in women’s singles history.

At 45 years old, former World No. 1 Williams will be making her 22nd appearance in Melbourne after receiving a wild card entry. The legend hasn’t played in the Australian Open since 2021, but began a surprising return to the tennis court last summer.

The two-time finalist will face off with Serbian star Olga Danilovic in the first round, and if she continues, fans could see an all-star matchup between Williams and fellow American Coco Gauff.
