RAF: Arman Tsarukyan vs. Georgio Poullas rematch belongs on our stage
Real American Freestyle wants the beef between Arman Tsarukyan and Georgio Poullas settled on their mats.
At RAF 6, a brawl broke out after Tsarukyan defeated Poullas by decision this past Saturday at Mullett Arena in Tempe. After three rounds, Tsarukyan attacked Poullas, and chaos ensued.
A submission only grappling rematch between Tsarukyan and Poullas was announced for a Hype FC event March 11 from Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but just hours later, news broke that Poullas is withdrawing from the match. That appears to be due to the intervention of RAF.
“RAF 6 created one of the biggest moments in combat sports this year,” CEO, Chad Bronstein told MMA Junkie. “Now everyone wants the rematch. But some things belong on the stage where they started. And that stage is RAF.”
RAF co-founder Izzy Martinez also weighed in on the canceled Hype FC matchup.
“After the intensity we saw the first time, a rematch between Arman and Georgio was inevitable,” Martinez said. “There’s unfinished business there, and there’s no better place to settle it than on a Real American Freestyle mat.”
