Jannik Sinner has been preparing for his Miami Open final by practicing with fellow Italian Jasmine Paolini.

Sinner is currently chasing the Sunshine Double, having beaten Daniil Medvedev in the Indian Wells final earlier this month.

He would be the eighth man to win Indian Wells and Miami Open in the same season, a feat that Aryna Sabalenka has just achieved.

Sabalenka beat home favorite Coco Gauff to lift the trophy in Miami, having done the same against Elena Rybakina earlier this month.

Sinner is now aiming to follow suit, with his practice session with WTA star Paolini getting the nod of approval from Boris Becker.

Boris Becker practiced with Steffi Graf “many times”

Reacting to footage of Sinner and Paolini hitting on the court, tennis legend Becker wrote on X: “That’s pretty cool. Jannik practicing with Jasmine.”

A fan then responded to the German with the question: “Did you ever practice with Steffi [Graf]?”

And Becker responded: “Many times!”

Becker clinched a superb six Grand Slam titles during his glittering career, as well as reaching number one in the rankings.

His fellow German Graf is also a former world number one, with the legendary figure boasting a massive 22 Grand Slam titles.

That is just one behind fellow legend Serena Williams, and two behind all-time women’s leader Margaret Court, who is joined by men’s hero Novak Djokovic on 24.

Jannik Sinner and Jasmine Paolini to close out Miami Open

Both Sinner and Paolini are involved in the last day of action at the Miami Open, which will bring an end to the hard-court swing.

The former will take on Jiri Lehecka in the men’s final, which he enters with a 3-0 head-to-head record over his Czech rival.

The match takes place on Stadium court, but only after the women’s doubles final, where Paolini is playing with fellow Italian Sara Errani.

The pair are the top seeds at the Miami Open, but face a tricky task against home favorite Taylor Townsend and her partner Katerina Siniakova, the second seeds.

The two matches arrive a day after the women’s final, in which world number one Sabalenka beat Gauff 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 to successfully defend her title.
