Andre Agassi sends social media message to Grigor Dimitrov after Australian Open meeting
Andre Agassi has been busy in Melbourne!
The legendary American played a starring role in the inaugural Australian Open Opening Ceremony.
He, Roger Federer, and Ash Barty defeated Lleyton Hewitt and Pat Rafter in an All-Star exhibition match on Rod Laver Arena.
Agassi then stayed for a Q&A with Jim Courier, sharing memories from his time down under.
He’s now also taken the time to send a message to an active player on the ATP Tour.
Andre Agassi runs into Grigor Dimitrov in Melbourne
Posting on Instagram, Agassi shared two pictures of himself and Dimitrov.
One, from when Dimitrov was a youngster on tour, and one at this year’s Australian Open.
“Then vs now, Grigor Dimitrov,” Agassi captioned the post.
“Luckily, we learned how to wear shirts!
“Love ya g, keep pushing.”
Agassi and Dimitrov have a close relationship, and the former worked alongside the Bulgarian for a while.
In 2019, Dimitrov shared what it was like having Agassi with him at the Australian Open.
“For him to sit in my box, spend whatever, eight, ten hours a day with me, it’s already a plus,” said Dimitrov.
“I feel like I’m learning so much on and off the court
“Overall, things have been great.”
Dimitrov learned a lot from his time with Agassi, but how did he get on at this year’s Australian Open?

The former world number three was given a tricky draw in Melbourne and had to play Czechia’s Tomas Machac in round one.
Machac defeated Dimitrov in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-3.
Dimitrov is now 1-2 for the season, having beaten Pablo Carreno Busta in his opening match at the Brisbane International before losing to Raphael Collignon in the quarterfinals.
He’ll now rest up ahead of his return to tennis at the Dallas Open.
There are several big names heading over to America for the ATP 500 event, including Ben Shelton, Taylor Fritz, and Casper Ruud.
Only time will tell if Dimitrov can emerge victorious and pick up his 10th career title in Dallas.
The 2026 Dallas Open will begin on Monday, February 9.
