Chicago Sky star Angel Reese proved she is a true girl’s girl by offering words of support to Coco Gauff following her notable win at the French Open.

It came after the tennis star shared a TikTok video in which she grew emotional over the overwhelming support she continues to receive, not only from the sports community but also from social media.

In a short clip, the two-time Grand Slam winner began by sharing her experience attending a WNBA game to support the New York Liberty.

“The whole arena was cheering for me, which I was not expecting because it’s not my sport and I’m at a basketball game,” she said, as she began to get teary-eyed just by recounting the moment.

Describing it as a “crazy” experience, the 21-year-old reflected on her realization of being seen. She also expressed her deep gratitude to her fans and supporters.

“It just made me realize I have many people who like see me,” she said, adding, “I really appreciate you guys. Every ‘congratulations.’ Every ‘we love you.’ Every ‘we support you.’ Every ‘I was rooting for you’ really means a lot to me.”

The comments section was flooded with positive reactions from fellow athletes and fans who were touched by Gauff’s vulnerability and in awe of her talent, humility and authenticity. That included Reese, who celebrated her remarkable achievement.

“WE LOVE YOU CO,” she wrote — to which the tennis champion responded, “We love you, queen.”

Interestingly, before their social media interaction, the two athletes had a brief moment during the Liberty and Sky matchup on Tuesday.

While Gauff was sitting courtside to support Sabrina Ionescu’s team, the Sky forward made sure to greet her after the game — showing a powerful example of women supporting women.
