Aryna Sabalenka shows off massive engagement ring with Indian Wells happy dance
World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has enjoyed a 72-week high atop women’s tennis.
The four-time Grand Slam champion arrived at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California, unaware she was about to experience a personal high.
Sabalenka’s boyfriend Georgios Frangulis popped the question Tuesday night at dinner, and she said yes. Just like that, Frangulis became her fiancé.

As Sabalenka arrived at the tournament on Wednesday in advance of her first match on Friday, she couldn’t help but show off her ring and celebrate the occasion with a happy dance, as shared by the BNP Paribas Open X account.
Sabalenka and Frangulis, a 37-year-old businessman from Brazil who founded acai brand Oakberry, went public with their relationship in October 2024. According to Tennis.com, they met at a Formula One race.

The proposal shouldn’t have come as a complete surprise to Sabalenka, who seemed to lobby for it after winning the Brisbane International early this year. “Thank you to my boyfriend. … Hopefully soon I can call you something else, right?”
The happy couple shared a post on Instagram, sharing a video of the proposal with the caption “You & me, forever” with heart and ring emojis.
The BNP Paribas Open will be Sabalenka’s first tournament since the Australian Open. She lost in the final against Elena Rybakina, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Sabalenko will take on Himeno Sakatsume on Friday in the Round of 64.
