ATP World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz splurges on lavish purchase

ATP World No. 1 tennis star Carlos Alcaraz is having a great year. Despite an earlier than expected exit at the Miami Open, Alcaraz is the reigning Australian Open champion and with that win, completed the Career Grand Slam. At 22, he was the youngest to win each of the Grand Slams: Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and US Open, at least once.

Between his tournament earnings and endorsements, Alcaraz has plenty of money in his bank account. He doesn’t have a lot of time to spend the money as he is on the ATP Tour for nearly 11 months each year.

Alcaraz has planned his first big purchase. For those who thought it would be a home so that he can move out of his parents’ house, that is not the case.

What did Alcaraz buy

Alcaraz ordered a custom yacht from Sunreef Yachts for a new 26.8 metre catamaran from the Polish company’s Ultima 88 yacht series.

He intends to use it to “unwind and recharge.”

The model emphasizes an active lifestyle, making it an ideal choice for Alcaraz. It has side terraces with “direct access to jet ski and water sports equipment.”

Four guest cabins and a large owner’s suite will allow Alcaraz to entertain many guests.

It is unclear when Alcaraz will receive his custom yacht. He is currently in Europe preparing for the spring clay court season culminating with the French Open where the 2025 champion will be vying for back-to-back titles.

Alcaraz the fisherman

Carlos Alcaraz is no stranger to water-related activities. He recently went on a fishing trip in Doha with Jannik Sinner, Andrey Rublev, and Daniil Medvedev.

Perhaps he will invite his peers onto the new yacht for another fishing adventure.
