Hecher Sosa preferred a KO, but happy to put on show in UFC debut

LAS VEGAS – Hecher Sosa met the media Saturday after his win over Luan Lacerda at UFC Fight Night 269.

Sosa (15-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) looked sharp in his UFC debut and outworked Lacerda (13-4 MMA, 1-3 UFC) for a unanimous decision on the prelims at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas.

He was pleased to get a UFC win under his belt – and happy he looked good, despite no finish.

"I'm very happy with the win and to be in the big leagues here," Sosa said at his post-fight news conference. "Of course, it's not the performance that I wanted because I came here to knock him out. I want that KO.

"I want to come here and actually give people what they want. I said if I'm looking for the finish, at the same time, if I'm not going to get it, I'm going to inflict as much damage and punishment as I can. I proved to people I'm a fighter that gives people what they want, which is a great fight and a spectacle."

Sosa, a DWCS alum, also talked about the death of his father not long ago and the role his memory played in his UFC debut win.
