Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz vs. Lamont Roach: Stacked undercard announced for PBC's December PPV
PBC will close out its 2025 campaign with one of the best cards of the year. The company confirmed its three-fight pay-per-view undercard for the Dec. 6 Isaac "Pitbull" Cruz vs. Lamont Roach WBC interim super lightweight title bout on Wednesday afternoon.
Erislandy Lara and Janibek Alimkhanuly will go head-to-head in a three-belt middleweight title unification in the co-feature at Frost Bank Arena in San Antonio.
Middleweight — a historically important division in the sport — has lacked the key fights and depth of talent in recent years following Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin's decisions to leave the 160-pound weight class.
Alimkhanuly (17-0, 12 KOs), considered the division's No. 1-ranked fighter, has been crying out for unification bouts and a chance to cement his legacy as a pound-for-pound fighter. Kazakhstan's Alimkhanuly, the WBO and IBF titleholder, made easy work of Vincenzo Gualtieri in a 2023 battle of unbeaten champions and now looks to add the remaining belts to his collection beginning Dec. 6 in Texas.
Lara (31-3-3, 19 KOs), 42, has proven that age is nothing more than a number. The two-division champion, who controversially lost to "Canelo" in 2014, was last in action in September 2024, when he dominated Danny Garcia to retain his WBA middleweight strap. The Cuban southpaw represents by far the toughest test of Alimkhanuly's career to date.
Elsewhere on the card, O'Shaquie Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) will defend his WBC super featherweight crown against the current WBC featherweight champion, Stephen Fulton (23-1, 8 KOs). Foster vs. Fulton was supposed to take place on an expected Aug. 16 Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach 2 undercard and then was scheduled for the Oct. 25 Sebastian Fundora vs. Keith Thurman co-feature, but the fight didn't happen either time due to issues with the main events.
Fulton, who lost his unified super bantamweight title to Naoya Inoue in 2023, will look to become a three-division champion against Foster. Foster captured the belt with a come-from-behind knockout win over Eduardo "Rocky" Hernandez in October 2023 and regained the title this past November in a rematch with Robson Conceicao after losing it in controversial fashion in their first fight.
In the pay-per-view opener, Jesus Ramos Jr. (23-1, 19 KOs) jumps up to middleweight to face Shane Mosely Jr. (22-4, 12 KOs) — the son of the legendary three-division champion, Shane Mosely — for the WBC interim title. Ramos and Mosely were also supposed to clash on the Oct. 25 Fundora-Thurman bill, but the pair's bout had to be rescheduled after an injury to Fundora canceled the show.
