Kai Trump undergoes surgery to repair injury affecting golf swing
Kai Trump will be sidelined from her burgeoning golf career as she recovers from
Trump, a senior at the Benjamin School and the eldest grandchild of U.S. President Donald J. Trump, announced she underwent left surgery on Wednesday, Jan. 7 to address injuries to her left wrist.
In a post to her personal Instagram, Trump said the procedure addressed the stabilizing tissues of her ECU tendon and damage to her triangular fibrocartilage complex. She said Dr. Thomas Graham of Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute conducted the surgery.
A University of Miami women’s golf signee in the Class of 2026, Trump said she will undergo rehab over the coming months in an attempt to play golf “pain free” again.
Trump made her LPGA debut at The Annika in November on a sponsor’s exemption. She missed the cut at 18-over but played better than many expected given her amateur status and the prominence of the event.
Trump also played for the Benjamin School girls golf team last fall in several events. She ultimately did not play in the Bucs’ postseason tournaments while pursuing the LPGA opportunity. She was named second team All-County by The Post in December.
