Londonderry's Browning captures Mike Ryan tourney
Londonderry’s Carter Browning fired an even-par 70 on Wednesday and claimed victory in the Mike Ryan Memorial Junior Golf Tournament at Derryfield Country Club in Manchester.
Browning, 18, carded four birdies, two bogeys and one double-bogey to finish with a three-day total of 216, one stroke better than Aaryan Narang of Bedford. Thomas Manning of Windham took third place (221 total), Jimmy Schouller of North Hampton (222) placed fourth, and Bedford’s Wade Thompson and Derry’s Brady Cuneo (223) tied for fifth. Thompson was the only player to break par on Wednesday, shooting a 1-under 69. Orford’s Henry Sullivan, the leader after the first and second rounds, shot an 87 on Wednesday and finished at 229.
