Moses Itauma continues to pass every test with flying colors. The 20-year-old heavyweight sensation did it once again on Saturday, knocking down Mike Balogun three times en route to a vicious second-round knockout on the Josh Taylor vs. Ekow Essuman undercard at the OVO Hydro arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) needed less than half a round to put Balogun (21-2, 16 KOs) on notice early, sending the former NFL linebacker toppling to the canvas with a pair of picture-perfect left hands. Itauma then repeated the favor just nine seconds into the second round, dropping Balogun again with a sharp right hook, before sealing the deal just 30 seconds later with one of the finest counter rights you'll ever see.

The official time of the stoppage came at the 46-second mark of Round 2.

Itauma is widely considered the top heavyweight prospect in professional boxing and debuted at No. 1 on Uncrowned's inaugural Top 25 Under 25 list for up-and-coming athletes in combat sports.

With his latest win on Saturday, Itauma defended the WBO Intercontinental heavyweight championship and WBA international heavyweight championship.

"He is a tough cookie, man," Itauma said of Balogun afterward. "Honestly, after that second knockdown, I was like, 'Nah, he's not getting up,' When he got up, I was like, 'What?! I was catching him clean.' And even that second one, I turned around and he's still trying to get up. Fair play to that man. He is one tough cookie. Listen, with all these expectations on me, I knew that this was his chance at the big league, so I didn't want to enter him into it. Do you get what I mean? So I had to put a little pause on it.

"I'd like to appreciate Mike Balogun for taking this opportunity, because not a lot of people would."

Itauma's promoter Francis Warren said post-fight that he hopes to book the young heavyweight's next bout for July 19 on the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Daniel Dubois 2 undercard in London, England.

"It's Moses Itauma's time," Itauma said. "My team wants to see me in a 10-round fight, and then after that we'll unleash me to the big dogs."
