Neenah advances to semifinals in Division 1 boys team tennis tournament
Fox Valley Association teams went 1-1 at the WIAA state team tennis tournament June 13 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium in Madison.
Neenah defeated Marquette University, 4-3, while Middleton knocked off Kimberly, 5-2.
The fifth-seeded Rockets will play top-seeded Brookfield Central in the semifinals. The Lancers defeated Menomonie, 7-0.
Carl Hein at No. 1 singles and Hunter Brown at No. 2 singles were winners for Neenah.
The Rockets also got wins from Andrew Werner and Brady Lawatsch at No. 1 doubles, and Luke Grassl and Henry Farrell at No. 2 doubles.
In Kimberly’s match against Middleton, Preston McGinnis won at No. 4 singles and the No. 1 doubles team of Aiden Meixl and Colin Meixl won in straight sets.
