Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight veteran Ricky Simon (22-7) suffered a unanimous decision loss to Raoni Barcelos (21-5) at UFC Vegas 111 last night (Sat., Nov. 8, 2025), dropping a competitive and entertaining scrap inside the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While Barcelos was the sharper fighter over three rounds, Simon showed his usual grit and forward pressure, constantly looking to push the pace and mix in takedowns. Unfortunately, his efforts weren’t enough to sway the judges, who all scored the bout in favor of Barcelos after 15 hard-fought minutes.

Following the fight, UFC CEO Dana White shared a few up-close photos of a nasty gash Simon suffered on his chin during the bout — along with the stitches it took to patch it up — and they’re not for the squeamish.

The loss snapped a two-fight win streak for Simon, who was coming off victories over Cameron Smotherman (unanimous decision) and Javid Basharat, whom he brutally knocked out at UFC Seattle earlier this year — a finish that had “Knockout of the Year” buzz at the time (watch highlights).

At 33, Simon remains one of the more durable and respected veterans in the Bantamweight division, and while the setback stings, he’s still capable of bouncing right back into the mix with one big performance in 2026.
