Report: Manny Pacquiao ends retirement for WBC title fight vs. Mario Barrios

Manny Pacquiao isn't done yet.

For the first time in almost four years, Pacquiao (62-8-2) will partake in a professional boxing match when he faces Mario Barrios (29-2-1) for the WBC welterweight title July 19 in Las Vegas, according to a report from ESPN. The fight will be available on PBC pay-per-view. MGM Grand Garden Arena will likely house the bout.

Pacquiao, 46, has not competed professionally since August 2021 when he lost a unanimous decision to Yordenis Ugas. The loss snapped a three-fight winning streak that consisted of victories over Lucas Matthysse, Adrien Broner, and Keith Thurman.

Since that defeat, Pacquiao has competed in a December 2022 exhibition boxing match vs. DK Yoo, as well as a July 2024 custom rules bout vs. Rukiya Anpo in RIZIN.

Barrios, 29, is 3-0-1 in his most recent four. The draw was his most recent outing, which came vs. Abel Ramos in November. Barrios' only two career losses have come to Gervonta Davis and Keith Thurman.
